As you all are undoubtedly aware, markets have seriously soured in the past months. Consumer sentiment hit an all-time low. Optimism has turned to pessimism. Redacteds and soonTMs have, understandably, become more concerning than exciting.

So it’s time to share our plans, high-level strategy, and how everything we are doing at Good Gaming is meant to tie together. Let’s dive in.

Water Bear PFPs — The Collectible Web3 Gateway

Alright, so most of you are already aware that the Water Bear PFP project is our way of hitting the more traditional routes explored by Web3 natives, being that the project is on Ethereum and is a more familiar PFP project.

You’re also probably aware that we are intensely focused on collectability and that, like all of our other initiatives, we always want to link everything we do back to the MicroBuddies base game.

What you haven’t been told up to this point is that the PFPs are also going to double as a type of membership token. Not only will this membership have great benefits and utility, but it is also a key complement to our other initiatives. It will tie them all together (and ultimately reward our GOO farmers), which I’ll cover in this post.

Being a member is as simple as owning a Water Bear PFP, and here are some of the benefits:

THE Alpha Group

For the uninitiated, an “alpha group” is a closed community of members who hunt, gather, and share exclusive information about other projects and opportunities in the space. In a traditional NFT alpha group, these opportunities are generally limited to the NFT space. However, ours will also expand into the crypto-sphere and even go as far as discussing the broader macroeconomic state.

Our goal here is to build a powerful community of individuals who understand the space and can provide valuable opportunities to each other. I will be exposing much of my own personal research here and also hope to partner with other projects and people to provide direct allowlists, airdrops, and speaker events to the community. The name of the game here is to build some powerful network effects, and more importantly, have fun!

Web3 Toolset

Another powerful benefit for our members will be a series of Web3 tools and resources, including but not limited to:

• Web3 Security Courses — Feel confident navigating Web3 without fear of having your wallet drained/stolen.
• Minting strategies — What are the tricks to securing a slot on an allowlist/minting during a public sale in highly anticipated mints? What factors should you consider when deciding whether to flip an NFT on the secondary markets or hold? When should you even mint vs. buy on secondary?
• Minting & Security Events— We will develop smart contracts on a safe blockchain testnet where users can test their minting skills in races, get familiar with quickly configuring gas settings, and interact with mock scam contracts (yes, you will have to put your security skills to the test and avoid scams while racing to mint vs. other users and bots in our testnet events :))

Live Fireside Chats

We will have regularly scheduled fireside chats to just hang out and talk about anything and everything, whether MicroBuddies, questions you have about Web3, asking me or others to review/give hot takes on other projects, or just random life stuff. Together we can hang out, grow, and stay informed.

Web3 Onboarding & Educational Courses

Part of being a member of our group assumes some level of understanding of crypto, blockchain, and Web3. Heck, you’ve gotta have some knowledge to even purchase one of the PFPs or start GOO farming!

Plus, a lot of the things we do as a company at Good Gaming are facing traditional gaming users who have no clue about Web3 and, in some cases, are actually very hostile towards it. I think we are in a VERY unique position to help shape the narrative around Web3 and show gamers that this isn’t just a space earmarked by scarcity and exclusion, scams, and other bad stuff, but a place to foster strong communities and valuable experiences with a ton of meaning.

That’s why we will also aim to provide public courses on crypto, blockchain, and Web3. We aim to explain why this technology is useful, why it’s important, why it’s fun, and how to use it. With the knowledge we will provide here, everyone will come out ready to join our community and take their experience to the next level with our PFP memberships :D

Mint Updates

First of all, all Gen 0 MicroBuddies holders will continue to receive a free Water Bear mint for each Gen 0 they own. We will take a snapshot on Sept. 15 of all Gen 0 holders and this will be the final list of users who are able to obtain a free mint. Buying/revealing a Gen 0 after Sept. 15 will not give you the ability to mint for free.

For sneak peeks, one holder of each sneak peek will be airdropped the exact Water Bear PFP featured in the respective sneak peek. Everybody who collects ALL 13 sneak peeks will be airdropped, for free, a guaranteed DARK DNA Water Bear, the rarest DNA in the entire collection!! (You still have time, click here!)

Finally, due to market conditions, we will be removing our DA and allowlist and moving to a first come, first serve public mint. The mint price will be $0.99, whatever that is in ETH, around the time the mint begins.

The total supply is 5,555. The public mint will last 3 days (72 hours), and the Gen 0 free mint will be available for 2 weeks. At the end of the 2 week period, the reveal will occur, GOO feeding will begin, and all unminted Water Bears will go to a treasury wallet for future use, whether that be for promotion, for delineation as we grow, or for burning.

GOO Feeding

Okay, so now onto GOO Feeding. Let’s start with an illustration:

The items featured above were discovered during experimentation by our highly trained nanotech engineers and have been collectively deemed “GOO Baby Eggs.” More specifically, the illustration features:

• A common GOO Baby Egg from the Standard DNA
• A rare GOO Baby Egg from the Serf DNA
• A legendary GOO Baby Egg from the Invisible DNA
• An exalted GOO Baby Egg from the Ice DNA
• & a divine GOO Baby Egg from the Dark DNA

See where we’re going with this? After the reveal, you’ll be able to feed your Water Bear PFP GOO to receive a common GOO Baby Egg of the same DNA. But it doesn’t end there.

You’ll be able to obtain one GOO Baby Egg per bear per day.

You can also feed your GOO Baby Eggs GOO to level them up.

Once you have two max-level GOO Baby Eggs of the same rarity and DNA (like common standard), you can fuse them together to receive an egg of the next rarity (like rare standard). Once you have two max-level GOO Baby Eggs of the new rarity (like 2x rare standard), you can fuse them again (to legendary standard), and so on, all the way up to divine.

Also note, however, that you can only fuse up to the highest rarity your GOO Baby Hatchery supports, which also costs GOO to upgrade. :)

Why do all of this? Well, to start, the top 10 ranked eggs in your hatchery will contribute to your position in the GOO Baby leaderboards, which will eventually net prizes. Plus, it’s kind of addicting!

Full documentation on GOO Baby Eggs will come as we approach mint, but this is your high level overview. Hatching GOO Baby Eggs is a feature planned for the future that we’ll be able to design together in future members only fireside chats!

Future Mints

I’m sure at this point you’re all already overloaded with content and questions at this point, but we need to go further to really call this post unredacted.

This is, of course, the Water Bear PFP mint. We will also do mints for Yeast, Fungi, Virus, Bacteria, Amoeba, Archaea, Protozoa, Protist, and Algae, in that order, over a very long time horizon, and we also have a plan to alleviate dilutionary effects and transfer value between each collection.

Firstly, there will be free mints for each collection. While Water Bear is a free mint for Gen 0 holders, Yeast will be a free mint only for those who hold both a Gen 0 AND a Water Bear PFP. Likewise, Fungi will be a free mint only for those who hold a Gen 0, a Water Bear PFP, AND a Yeast PFP. With each successive release, you’ll need to hold all the previous ones in order to receive a free mint, so HODL!!

Additionally, each successive release will come with new and interesting GOO integrations, which I look forward to theory-crafting and designing with you all in future fireside chats.

Finally, many of the benefits from each PFP project will transfer to the next as they are released, and we will attempt to accommodate more and more users into the community as demand and value grows. How’s that for inclusivity?!

Roblox & The Larger Strategy

First off, we are looking to integrate MicroBuddies into ALL of our verticals as a company. You all are at the core of everything we are doing.

With Roblox, we are launching a MicroBuddies-themed simulator game. We think this will introduce more users to the IP and help get people warmed up to the idea of MicroBuddies, and, ultimately, Web3. We also really like that Roblox, in general, is leaning more and more towards the space in ways Mojang, the company in charge of Minecraft, is not, and we think it’s definitely a strong play for the future to be here now.

To kick the integrations off, I’m happy to announce that each Water Bear PFP minted during our mint will come with a code that will unlock an exclusive huge Water Bear pet in the MicroBuddies Simulator!

You see me mention fireside chats in this article a lot, and I’ll do it again here. I would love to talk specifics on further integrations with Roblox with you all in those chats!

Minecraft & The Larger Strategy

With Minecraft, we will have a direct conversion of GOO to RC. RC is the currency that powers all of our Minecraft games and what is used to buy virtually everything. Players can purchase RC from us with real money or trade with other players using the peer-2-peer marketplace.

To start and to avoid breaking the economy, the GOO conversion rate will be a conservative 1 RC per 100,000 GOO burnt. It will be easier to put this into perspective once the server has opened and you have a taste for RC pricing in-game.

Moreover, we also plan to have private survival instances of Minecraft up exclusively for our Web3 community. The community will probably be open to any MicroBuddy holder, be it PFP, Gen 0, or anything else. Just getting involved in MicroBuddies, even for free through the Buddy Masters program, is enough to get in. We’ll also lean heavily on fireside chats for your guys’ feedback on the private server.

I hope that it’s becoming a bit clearer with everything we are doing. By offering these other gaming experiences, we are bringing more users to the MicroBuddies base game, even from outside the Web3 space.

When you combine this idea with everything provided in the Water Bear PFP, including the Web3 onboarding courses, we are positioning ourselves with the ultimate flywheel. New users come into the brand to play our fantastic games. Through integrations that enhance gameplay rather than limit it, users are peacefully invited to try out our Web3 offerings and find out if it’s everything they’ve been told to hate or if this technology can enhance their experience in a meaningful and fulfilling way. The cherry on top is that we will have our Web3 onboarding and educational courses to facilitate their experience and make it much more accommodating!
