Professor Allen was a brilliant scientist, driven by an unwavering passion for unlocking the secrets of time travel. But despite his relentless efforts, the time machine eluded his grasp for years. Frustration gnawed at his soul, night after night, as he toiled away in his cluttered laboratory.

One fateful morning, after a sleepless night spent tweaking and adjusting his creation, the professor stood before the machine, determined to break through the invisible wall. He started the machine, praying for a miracle.

With trembling anticipation, he set the destination to 1905, one hundred and fifty years into the past, and pulled the lever. But to the professor’s dismay, the machine remained obstinately silent as if mocking his inability to conquer the barriers of time. Overwhelmed by a sense of defeat and hopelessness, the professor succumbed to the darkness that enveloped his mind. He reached for his gun, raised it to his temple, and pulled the trigger.

As the gun slipped from his hand and his lifeless body fell onto the time machine’s controls, an unexpected surge of energy coursed through its metallic veins. Sparks erupted, and gears that had long remained motionless sprung to life.

Detective Johnson stood in the dimly lit mortuary, his gaze fixed upon the lifeless figure laid out before him. The frozen dead body lay on a metal slab, its pallid skin reflecting the cold, sterile lights overhead.

It had been sixteen days, and the detective couldn’t ID the dead man. No one came forward to claim the body. No witness could place the mysterious man at the location where his body was found. It was as if the man had fallen from the sky.

What was more troubling was the bullet that was retrieved from the dead man’s skull. The detective showed the bullet to every gun manufacturer in the country, and they all said the same thing — This was not fired from one of our guns.

The detective had no idea that the pistol that fired the bullet, GLOCK 42, hadn’t been designed yet.
