Friends ‘n Tea — image created by author on NightCafe

We sit together on the plush couch, sipping our warm tea and enjoying each other's company. For years, we’ve been the closest of friends, sharing adventures and countless whispered secrets. There’s a comfortable pause in our conversation when the song playing on the radio catches our attention.

I kissed a girl, and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it

I look at my friend. Her eyes lock with mine. We don’t speak, but a clear understanding passes between us.

As if orchestrated by an outside force, we both lean forward, not breaking eye contact. We stop when our mouths are only millimeters apart. I feel her warm breath on my face, while her ragged breaths mirror my own.

We share a wordless conversation... a silent agreement.

Our lips touch.

Lightly.

We close our eyes.

It’s intense.

Every movement. Every feeling.

The feather light touching of our lips sends shivers through my body. While other parts of my body awaken, she has all my attention.

I trace the outline of her mouth with my tongue. Inwardly, I smile when a lust-filled sigh escapes her.

Our tongues move in a forbidden dance as they explore. We move slowly, our hearts pounding against our ribs, denying the yearning of our bodies.

This is the first sensual kiss we ever shared, and we want it to last forever.

When she lays her hand on my cheek, we both let go of the caution. Our kiss deepened, the sweet taste of tea still on our lips.

I run my fingers down her spine and pull her even closer when she arches her back, pressing her body against mine.

Us girls, we are so magical
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable
Hard to resist, so touchable
Too good to deny it
Ain’t no big deal, it’s…
