The night before the séance, Maya had a dream.

In it, a young girl, bloodied and battered, runs out of an early 20th-century farmhouse, into a wooded area. The girl’s muffled sobs are drowned out by a pursuant crashing behind her.

The girl stumbles, barely noticing the overgrown hole in the ground.

As she turns to catch her balance, the assailant knocks her backward. Down she falls, hitting her forehead on the sides of the forgotten well. With her head bleeding, she looks up.

In terror, she cries out. Peering down at her are a pair of piercing green eyes.
