Cora squeezed the trigger again and again and again. A wanton rage pulsed through her, yearning for release. Her memories; a quagmire of shame and guilt, haunting. Mocking eyes. Cigarette-laced breath. Angry fists. She had frozen when it counted. Before. Never again. She reloaded, raised her gun. Target sighted.
