That night comes to me as a lingering after taste.
Sometimes bitter.
Sometimes sweet.
The time the three of us were in that street.
My wife and I hurried toward our hotel and there you were closing shop.
You met my gaze and shared a smile. My wife caught it and smiled back.
The images cascade then for me, the memory is broken you see.
A jittering, time-skipping montage of passion and excess.
A stop motion kaleidoscope of paradise lost.
Each day, I lose more frames.
I forgot who took who first.
I forgot why I am the last?
