№50 — Dive into a grim reimagining of Peter Pan in a very different world.
Pan flew above the endless rooftops of old quaint London, this version a high-end reproduction with particularly poor security.
Just the sort of dream-like distraction he preferred to find his marks.
“Down there,” came the voice of Tink in his ear.
Descending through wisps of clouds and clinging mist he alighted on the upper window sill of the Darlings.
A house not much different from any other row house, except that the three children within were richer than most metaverse junkies combined.
He looked in through the window and watched the three youths play a strange game of make believe, fighting their bedtime only to pretend to go to sleep in the end. Tucked up nice and tight by a memory, a beautiful rendition of their long dead mother.
A small light landed on his shoulder and grew quickly dim lest she rouse the children inside.
“Thanks for joining me,” said Pan.
“Sorry, overslept,” muttered Tink.
“What do we know about the eldest, Wendy?”
