The effect of social media on people’s lives is increasing. Thus, it has created a new marketing area for brands and businesses can gain the attention of people for their brand by social media and make those people their customer.

A good “Social Media Strategy” can make your brand more visible and attractive. It is an important step for brand visibility. But when you try to do it, you should be careful with some steps. Here some mistakes which companies do when they make social media strategy:

Not Having A Plan!

Not having a specific social media marketing strategy leaves you in an empty place. You should know your purpose and act accordingly. You should know which social media channel that you want to be in. You should know which posts to be posted and last you should be consistent with your posts. Don’t post too much and post relevantly.

If You Have Many Doors, You Do Not Have Any Doors!

Know your target audiences and where those audiences are. Do not waste your time in unnecessary platforms that will leave you naked. Most brand owners want to be seen in everywhere and open lots of accounts on different platforms. Then they forget or not posting regularly which makes them be seen unprofessional. According to a survey that examines social media usage on 2016, 79% of Americans use Facebook, 24% use Twitter, 31% use Pinterest, 32% use Instagram and 29% use LinkedIn. First, you should detect where your audiences are and then you should create your way!

Don’t Count On Fake Followers!

Recently, everyone has enormous level of followers but mostly they are irrelevant people with the current profiles. People think that if they have more followers, they will be seen cooler. However, they don’t aware of that their engagement levels are decreasing when irrelevant people start to follow them. So, do not buy followers for looking cool. They will eventually burn out. A profile with 20k followers with approximately 100 likes on it’s posts is not cool.

Engage With Your Audiences

If you want to take a huge place on social media, you should engage with the people. Educate them about your services, make “call to actions” to prompt them, and most importantly humanize your brand, make people believe that you are not just a mechanical kind of brand but you are also a brand which cares it’s own customers’ needs.

Track Your Analytics

Why do yo do social media strategy? To have effective place on social media. So, you are doing something to be an effective but you are not measuring how effective really is. This does not make sense right? Almost every platform has its own analytics component or there are lots of social media management programs that have analytics tool as well. Whatever time interval you need to measure for your brand, you should measure that how effective your social media strategy monthly, weekly or so.
