Let’s Investigate Images on DockerHub

When you use an image on DockerHub it can be a leap of faith. What is that image built from? What’s in it and what base images is it relying on? Am I happy with that?

Our new MicroBadger image navigator can help you do some investigating. Just give us any public image on DockerHub and we’ll tell you

  • What layers it contains
  • What base image(s) it was built on

You can navigate to any base image and find out all about that too. So using an image is no longer an act of faith. You know where it came from.

If you want to read more about how we do this there is a more detailed technical explanation here or you can investigate for yourself at MicroBadger
