Our Microscaling SLA scheduler has been successfully in production for over a month and has cut our target SQS bill by over 50%.

It’s completely controlling our production Microbadger service, which it is optimising for a smaller AWS footprint while maintaining all our response-time targets. Microscaling has now run for a month without a field failure, using Kubernetes as the underlying orchestration platform.

This is what orchestration is all about. Yes, it can help automate and speed-up existing tasks and that’s great, but custom scheduling is something you could not do before orchestrators and it is happening right now on our servers. We’re not Google or Netflix but we’ve been able to do this by writing a custom Go scheduler (open source scheduler). Try it!
