MicroStrategy 2021 Update 2 — CTO Newsletter

Dear MicroStrategy Customer,

After more than a year of disruption around the world, it’s more than a little thrilling to see things in our personal and professional lives start to return to normal. The experience of the last 15 months has provided an opportunity to reflect on the role of analytics and BI during times of radical market disruption, and for organizations intent on delivering data-driven decision-making to their employees and partners, the question isn’t whether things have changed, but rather how much, and how permanently.

One thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to you, our customers. Our ability to find new and innovative ways to connect, tackle new challenges together, and leverage this digital revolution to ensure you always have access to timely, trusted insights is what drives us to keep delivering.

On that note, our midyear update, MicroStrategy 2021 Update 2, is now available on MicroStrategy Cloud, as well as private cloud and on-prem deployments. As always, this release contains hundreds of customer requests, performance optimizations, and new security features to keep you up to date. We’ve continued to deliver on our commitments to provide modern, open, enterprise-grade experiences to users in every role — let me share a couple of highlights:

• Customers of HyperIntelligence can now generate a white-labeled, fully customized Hyper plug-in to Chrome and Edge, opening up the opportunity to differentiate and monetize data for end customers like never before. HyperIntelligence also now includes a new, compact card template, further optimizing HyperIntelligence for social media integration and other collaboration workflows.

• Developers now have the ability to embed and integrate single visualizations from a dossier into custom applications, delivering a more targeted set of assets to end users and simplifying maintenance and development.

• Dossier authors now have access to an interactive Time-Series visualization, to enable complete financial and analysis workflows, including for stock and cryptocurrency analysis. They also have more intuitive and flexible capabilities in Dossier formatting — enabling quick customization that will make your application pop!

• Our set of performance-optimized gateways to market-leading solutions has expanded to include Exasol and Databricks SQL Analytics, as well as support for OAuth authentication to top cloud sources like ADLS Gen2 and Google Cloud Storage.

• Dossiers viewed in Library Web can now be accessibly navigated in a logical order with visualization buttons reachable using the keyboard. Quickly navigate between Library menus and Dossier content with the F6 keyboard shortcut.
• MicroStrategy Workstation now includes an even greater number of modern workflows for administrators, analysts, and architects, including additional editors for prompts, derived elements, logical views, and the ability to search for dependents and components of an object. Administrators and architects will also have the ability to create and edit Python scripts without leaving Workstation.

• MicroStrategy continues investing in security and is now OpenID Certified. MicroStrategy Library also now contains a Content Security Policy as an added layer of security.
