MicroStrategy 2022 April Release
MicroStrategy’s April release is now available! As we move forward with continued innovation, we’re rolling out new features faster than ever before. With this month’s release, we’re delivering enhanced security, stability, and overall user experience with new features for both MicroStrategy Workstation and MicroStrategy Library.
To ensure our customers have an optimized experience across all of our products, we’ve released new versions of the following applications that include a few new enhancements. We recommend upgrading to the latest version:
- Library Mobile for Android & iOS
- MicroStrategy App for macOS & Windows
- HyperMobile for Android & iOS
- HyperWeb for Chrome & Edge
We’ve also continued investment in the modern analytics story, with exciting features rolling out for both administrators and analysts. In order to leverage the following features, users will need to connect to a 2021 Update 5 environment or higher.
Here are some of the top highlights:
Workstation and Administration
Workstation continues to add new capabilities and streamlined workflows for administrators. For April, this one-stop shop continues to improve efficiency for platform management.
Notice new subscription delivery options integrated directly in Workstation:
- Configure subscription delivery types at the environment level, including content delivery via Email, File, FTP, Print, or Mobile.
- Create delivery devices based on the supported delivery type and map the devices to user accounts — this allows for seamless delivery of dossiers, documents, and reports.
For our Python users, we’ve expanded overall scripting capabilities:
- Leverage the new Python module for schema operations related to attributes. Use Python to create, edit, or delete attributes. With just a few lines of code, users can even configure attribute forms or define attribute relationships.
Mobile
We debuted subscription management in MicroStrategy Library with our December release — and it proved to be a fan favorite across the customer base at World 2022. Now, we’re bringing the same game changing feature to our mobile users on Android devices:
- Use the Sidebar menu to navigate and manage all existing subscriptions — users can even unsubscribe to subscriptions that are no longer relevant.
- Create new email subscriptions from the Share menu. Subscribe to dossier content in PDF or Excel format, select a schedule, and add emails for content delivery.
- End users with specific privileges can share subscriptions with other team members.
- These options are also supported for MicroStrategy Library iOS.
Preview Features
To ensure you get the most out of your MicroStrategy experience, we have additional preview features that can be enabled from Workstation. These features have not officially been released, but allow our customers to test drive the latest in product innovation:
- Create or edit Standard Static Reports right from Workstation. Start by adding attributes and metrics for a modern authoring experience.
- Create Contacts and Contact Groups that use the security profiles of the linked MicroStrategy user accounts. This allows administrators to send content through subscriptions directly to users or delivery devices more seamlessly.
