This summer, we’ve been working behind the scenes to design an enhanced analytics experience that is guided, actionable, and more powerful than ever before. The goal is, and has always been, to provide data to 100% of the organization — to make data-driven decisions simple and second nature for all users. As some of our engineering teams work towards this much-anticipated feature set to be released in September, others continued steadfast to advance core workflows of the MicroStrategy foundation: data modeling and data management.

Today, we’re excited to announce the release of the August monthly release, including new administrative workflows and improved performance across the entire product suite.

Here are some of the top highlights:

Workstation and Administration

For August, we’ve introduced new features that continue to serve the missions of enhanced control for administrators and expanded content delivery options:

  • Dynamically deliver reports and documents to multiple users with data views sliced by user email with content bursting options. Bursting allows administrators to send personalized views of content to a large audience with a single email subscription.
  • Configure and manage advanced properties for Intelligent Cubes. Set advanced properties like pre- and post- SQL statements, indexes for intermediate passes, parallel query execution. That’s just to name a few.

Next up, did someone say Python? Yeah, that’s what we thought. We’re enhancing the coding experience in Workstation one module at a time:

  • Leverage two Python modules for data modeling. The first module enables the user to create and administer metrics or manage transformations with simple code snippets.
  • Additionally, we enhanced the Data Source module to support Connection Mapping, providing parity with the Workstation user interface.

New App Releases

As always, we continue to optimize performance across the product suite with each release. For August, we’ve released new versions of the following applications to ensure seamless analytics experiences for our global users. We recommend upgrading to the latest version:

  • Library Mobile for Android & iOS
  • MicroStrategy App for macOS & Windows
  • HyperMobile for Android & iOS
  • HyperWeb for Chrome & Edge

MicroStrategy Cloud for Government

So, what are we waiting for?

We are just about ready to go live with our FedRAMP-authorized cloud offering. The last step in the authorization process is the official sign-off for ATO (authorization to operate) from the FedRAMP Project Management Office. Essentially, we’re waiting in line. This last sign-off will allow MicroStrategy to sell this cloud offering to any and all government agencies in addition to our main sponsor, the Department of Health and Human Services. We’re expecting the final green light by the end of August or into the first weeks of September. All campaign and launch materials are on stand-by as our Marketing teams gear up for promotion.

MicroStrategy Cloud for Government

To get all the features released in August, you can download the latest release from the MicroStrategy Resource Center for on-prem deployments, or access MicroStrategy on AWS or Azure via the MicroStrategy Cloud Console. For more information and full documentation regarding the release, visit the What’s New section of the Readme page.

From the MicroStrategy team, we thank you for your continued collaboration and help in building meaningful data experiences. Your ideas and inspiration power our product strategy, leading us to design application workflows with real user pain points and business goals in mind.

Without our customers, none of this is possible.

And as for this September — stay tuned. You’ll just have to wait for what many have already deemed as “the most exciting product launch we’ve seen in the past few years.”

Trust us, it’s a new level of analytics.

Ready to deliver to 100% of the enterprise.

Regards,
