An enterprise analytics strategy isn’t solely about the technology.

It’s about the ability of an organization to design user-centric digital experiences, and the agility to reimagine the data solutions for a modern era. To maintain a competitive edge, organizations must curate and build applications that solve unique problems and intrinsically embed insights into workflows that accelerate productivity.

So, where exactly do these applications start? It all starts with the unsung heroes — the administrators, the developers, the architects, those that are working to maintain the security and performance of the underlying user experience. MicroStrategy has always placed the needs of these heroes at the forefront of our product strategy, with agile cloud development options, advanced user management, and an unmatched object-oriented semantic layer.

Today, we’re excited to announce that we are releasing the July monthly release (22.07), with an entire set of new features designed specifically for administrators and architects.

Here are some of the top highlights:

Workstation and Administration

For July, we are introducing new additions that enable administrators to maintain enhanced control of objects and improve overall performance:

  • Configure and manage job prioritization to ensure highest performance. Job prioritization helps to ensure that high priority jobs are executed first in the data warehouse, or assign priority based on user group.
  • Administrators can now lock or unlock projects and configuration in Workstation. This helps to maintain the control and integrity of object definitions.
  • Monitor object changes through the change journal. The change journal is now integrated directly in Workstation and supported with APIs. This feature was previously in preview mode and now officially available for customers OOTB (out-of-the-box).
  • Create and edit FTP subscriptions. FTP subscriptions deliver content to FTP locations where the customers can either provide download access for end users or leverage an external process for further action with the content.

For our Python users:

  • View the added Filter class in the mstrio.modeling.filter subpackage to allow filter management. We’ve also added list_filters to allow listing of filters.
  • Additional minor updates to enhance overall workflows, including the ability to pass project_name, instead of project_id, in functions that previously only allowed project_id. The full list of updates for Python can be found in the Readme.

New App Releases

To ensure our customers have an optimized experience across all of our products, we’ve released new versions of the following applications that include a few new enhancements. We recommend upgrading to the latest version:

  • Library Mobile for Android & iOS
  • MicroStrategy App for macOS & Windows
  • HyperMobile for Android & iOS
  • HyperWeb for Chrome

HyperWeb for Edge will be available in the next few days.

MicroStrategy Cloud for Government

Cloud-powered analytics has transformed businesses over the past decade, and now it’s time for government agencies to make the move. We’re in the final stages of the release plan for MicroStrategy Cloud for Government, the FedRAMP-authorized and fully managed cloud service (PaaS). MicroStrategy will be the first independent enterprise analytics platform to achieve FedRAMP authorization — enabling federal agencies to develop powerful analytics applications that are fit for the digital age with uncompromising security.

To get all the features released in July, you can download the latest release from the MicroStrategy Resource Center to on-prem deployments, or access MicroStrategy on AWS or Azure via the MicroStrategy Cloud Console. For more information and full documentation regarding the release, visit the What’s New section of the Readme page.
