We’re officially in the final quarter leading up to 2023.

And if you’ve been following this series of newsletter updates, you know we’ve been working towards providing the tools to design an enhanced analytics experience that is guided, actionable, and impactful. Most specifically our monthly release cadence has seen improvements to Workstation and the administrative experience, closing the parity gap to finalize the main powerhouse of product.

Today, we’re excited to announce that the October release is LIVE. And to no surprise, this release includes new administrative workflows to deliver an enhanced experience for users. Here are some of the top highlights:

Workstation and Administration

For October, we are introducing new features that enable administrators to prioritize job processing and improve performance — all within Workstation:

  • Subscribe and deliver content with File Subscriptions. Easily send reports or documents to multiple file locations with expanded options.
  • Dynamically deliver content to multiple folder paths on the file server with the File Bursting option, improving overall efficiency and timeliness of content delivery.
  • Create both user and subscription fences to reserve nodes of a cluster environment with fencing, now available directly in Workstation. Fencing optimizes performance by enabling administrators to select specific user requests or subscriptions to process first based on priority level. For example, fences may be configured for users who require more processing power or high availability.
  • Note that historically the fencing feature was only available in Command Manager. The fencing feature is now available in the Workstation tool to provide a more seamless administrative experience in one place.
  • Preview Feature: The Content Cache Monitor is now available to preview. Monitor reports, documents, and dossier caches stored in MicroStrategy’s intelligence server memory. Note that the Cache Monitor also allows administrators to load, unload, or delete caches created by users from the memory. Make sure to turn on Preview Features in Workstation.

Next up, we’re also providing an enhanced selection of Workstation APIs. These new additions continue to advance the parity story between Developer and Workstation — the old versus the new.

Get the latest on new APIs in Workstation:

  • Duplicate users with the first of two new Workstation APIs released this month.
  • Manage quick search indices with Workstation APIs. Note that a quick search index is created when a project is loaded for the first time. Each time a project is loaded, or an object is created within a project, the search index will be updated.

New App Releases

We continue to advance the security and performance of our applications. For October, we’ve released new versions of the following applications. We recommend upgrading to the latest version:

  • Library Mobile for Android & iOS (App Only)
  • MicroStrategy App for macOS & Windows
  • HyperMobile for Android & iOS
  • HyperWeb for Chrome & Edge

Just now learning about the MicroStrategy App? The MicroStrategy App is the latest addition to the Library portfolio, providing a premiere viewing experience on the desktop. Built for business users and analysts alike, the app delivers an instant response experience with features unique to the app such as Smart Download and Automatic Refresh that predict and proactively download the content users need both online and offline. With limited to no load time, we’ve enhanced decision-making processes to drive operational efficiency. It’s a fan favorite here in the office at MicroStrategy HQ.

Download the desktop app from the Microsoft Store or App Store today.
