We can’t get enough of Library.

What it is. What it can do. When initially designing Library, our team of engineers set out to build a sleek, powerful interface for data analysis and content creation. Now, you might be used to the MicroStrategy Web product — and it was great at the peak of the mid-2000s. We spent years researching and understanding which features of Web should make into its successor: MicroStrategy Library. Today, Library has exceeded expectations and transformed into the foundation of modern Applications.

Now don’t worry, we still support Web. We’re just saying all the cool kids (modernizers, innovators, disruptors, trailblazers, go-getters) are on Library. It’s a thing.

The hot spot for business users, Library is traditionally known as the ultimate content portal. It displays a variety of analytics content, including Dossiers and Reports. Save and share specific data views or content manipulations with Bookmarks. Subscribe to content to receive the latest directly in your inbox. Or leverage direct messaging while immersed in the world of data analytics for more contextual and actionable discussions.

It’s the go-to place for data discovery and data collaboration.

And at the heart of Library is Insights, an advanced algorithm built to detect data patterns, outliers, or anomalies across content. Helping us to focus on what matters, users can set the algorithm to track specific KPIs or metrics that they deem to be the most important. With machine learning models, we then evaluate incoming data and surface critical data alerts to deliver accurate insights. We’ll even alert you to what happens next.

If given specific privileges, switch into Edit Mode to make updates or create net new content on the fly. From ad hoc visualizations to building an entirely new application, Library provides a fully modernized space for our creators to work. And these spaces can be fully customized because that’s how we designed it. To be simple, and to be dynamic.

A few simple clicks and Library applications can be personalized for individual users or teams. From the content within the app to the colors and functionality available, we have made it easier than ever to design and deploy applications. It’s all available in the Application Editor in Workstation.

When you’re ready, come and get it.

So, what’s new in the February release aside from the breakthrough data experiences that only MicroStrategy Library can deliver?

Dynamic Addresses: Workstation now enables the delivery of subscriptions to individual addresses. All with defined personalization completed by selecting a previously created source report as the recipient. This allows administrators to create subscriptions for multiple contacts without having to add each contact to MicroStrategy manually. It’s all about efficiency.

Embed Reports: With the Embedding SDK, use a few lines of code to seamlessly embed Reports into existing apps or portals. This elevates the data in the products that your users already know, increasing analytics adoption across the organization.

Explore the latest in embedding capabilities with the Developer Playground.

The February release has an entire lineup of applications with all-new updates and bug fixes. We highly recommend upgrading to the latest versions of the following applications to get optimized performance and improvements in overall application stability:

  • MicroStrategy Workstation for macOS & Windows
  • Library Mobile for Android & iOS
  • MicroStrategy App for macOS & Windows
  • HyperMobile for Android & iOS
  • HyperWeb for Chrome & Edge

To download this month’s release, you can go to the MicroStrategy Resource Center for on-prem deployments, or access MicroStrategy on AWS or Azure via the MicroStrategy Cloud Console. For more information, visit the What’s New section of the Readme page.
