Rides you won’t want to miss at MicroStrategy’s World 2023 conference party
After two years of being virtual, MicroStrategy World is picking up right where it left off in 2020 — Orlando, Florida! Thousands of MicroStrategy customers, partners, and employees, along with data enthusiasts, are coming together May 1–4, 2023. During this four-day conference, I’m particularly excited to watch the keynote presentations, vote for the World23 DossBoss winner, and attend lots of customer sessions. But more than anything else, I am excited for the EPIC conference party we’ve got planned.
With MicroStrategy World hosted in the theme park capital of the World, it only made sense to host this year’s conference party at a theme park!
Drum roll please…
This year’s conference party will be at Universal Studios Florida!
Here are some fun facts about the five attractions I can’t wait to try out on Tuesday, May 2nd.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
The carts on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit don’t stop moving. When boarding this ride, you will step onto a moving sidewalk that’s going the same speed as the train. You’ll have about 30 seconds to take your seat, strap in, and pick the song you want to listen to while riding. There are thirty songs you can choose from on the traditional menu, but if you hold your finger on the logo of the coaster, a keypad will appear. You can then enter a three-digit code to listen to one of sixty songs on the secret menu!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™
For those of you that attended MicroStrategy World in 2020, you will remember that our conference party was hosted at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. It was a huge hit and a memory that many attendees still talk about to this day. Don’t worry Harry Potter fans, we reserved The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ again this year!
All night long, you’ll have unlimited access to Diagon Alley™, where you can visit some of the most famous shops and establishments of the wizarding world, including Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Ollivanders™ wand shop, and the Leaky Cauldron™. Practitioners of the Dark Arts will find everything they need as they wander down the gloomy Knockturn Alley. Then, at the far end of Diagon Alley™, you’ll enter the imposing goblin-run Gringotts™ bank. Inside, you’ll take a ride on the groundbreaking, multi-dimensional thrill ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™.
TRANSFORMERS: The Ride
TRANSFORMER characters will appear larger than life on this dark, 3D ride. There are 34 custom-built screens throughout the ride, with the largest being 80 ft high! Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron often make regular appearances next to the ride’s building. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if these three TRANSFORMERS bots decide to crash the World23 conference party.
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
In this 3D simulation, Jimmy Fallon will challenge you to race him through New York City. The race starts and ends in 30 Rock’s Studio 6B. Throughout the race, you will see many NYC landmarks and iconic stars from The Tonight Show. And you know what’s even better?! You won’t have to wait in any physical line when you want to take your turn racing. This is the first ride at Universal Studios to implement a virtual line. You can get in line using the Universal Studios app and walk freely around The Tonight Show museum or any part of the park until it’s your turn.
Revenge of the Mummy
This ride is an enclosed roller coaster that will propel you from a complete standstill to 45 mph in just a few seconds. In 2004, Revenge of Mummy replaced Kongfrontation, one of Universal Studio’s opening-day attractions. Because of this, there are many King Kong Easter eggs throughout the ride and its queue. If you look closely, you’ll be able to find many Kong symbols, some Kongfrontation tokens, and even characters holding banana swords in the hieroglyphics along the walls.
BONUS: Meet the Minions
Your favorite, banana loving minions, Bob, Kevin, and Stuart have all RSVP’d YES to the World 2023 conference party. They can’t wait to take a selfie and show you their dance moves!
