Final Roster Thoughts

The Broncos’ final 53 is set, so it’s time to take a look. As always, there were several surprises.

Surprises:
* Special Teams over Special Skills:
The Broncos kept six inside linebackers, including two that are simply excellent Special Teams players. The cost? De’Angelo Henderson on the roster and any receiver getting to be №6.
* Paxton Lynch Stays: This is only sort of a surprise. It seemed clear by Friday Lynch would stay, but it’s still a bummer.
* Jeff Holland Cut Free: The Broncos kept six linebackers and Holland wasn’t one of them…. It’s a strange and disappointing development.

* Practice Squad Could Be Great: If the Broncos can get guys like Holland, Henderson, Isaiah McKenzie, River Cracraft and David Williams to the Practice Squad, we could have some great depth.

Final Roster:
QBs (3): Case Keenum, Chad Kelly, Paxton Lynch
RBs (3): Royce Freeman, Phillip Lindsay, Devontae Booker
FBs (1): Andy Janovich
WRs (5): Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Tim Patrick
TEs (3): Jeff Heuerman, Jake Butt, Matt LaCosse
OLs (9): Garrett Bolles, Ronald Leary, Matt Paradis, Connor McGovern, Jared Veldheer, Billy Turner, Max Garcia, Sam Jones, Elijah Wilkinson
DLs (6): Adam Gotsis, Derek Wolfe, Domata Peko, Sr., DeMarcus Walker, Shelby Harris, Zach Kerr
LBs (10): Von Miller, Shane Ray, Bradley Chubb, Shaq Barrett, Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, Josey Jewel, A.J. Johnson, Joe Jones, Keishawn Bierria
DBs (10): Chris Harris, Jr., Bradley Roby, Tramaine Brock, Sr., Adam Jones, Isaac Yiadom, Justin Simmons, Darian Stewart, Will Parks, Su’a Cravens, Dymonte Thomas
Specialists (3): Brandon McManus, Marquette King, Casey Kreiter
