Learning to Embrace Solitude

The older I get, the more I love time alone.

Inexperienced in Solitude

Until a couple of years ago, I had never been alone for five days — ever. Solitude? What’s that? Three kids and two parents shared the space in my childhood home. I had my first child at eighteen, who joined us there. I commuted to college.
