In Iowa we are blessed to have so many candidates consistently visiting our state. As college Republicans, we take the role of engaging with the campaigns and volunteering our time very seriously.

College Republicans in Iowa understand our state has a unique opportunity to met candidates and get to know them. This past weekend we were fortunate to help with a memorable tailgating experience at the Iowa State vs. Iowa rivalry game.

The turnout was terrific for the four candidates that stopped by the RPI Tailgate. Governor Walker, Senator Paul, Senator Rubio and Donald Trump worked the crowds as many enthusiastic supporters came out to engage with the candidates. It was such a blast!

Each election cycle college Republicans dedicate countless hours to canvassing, recruitment and volunteering efforts. Events like this over the weekend demonstrate the unique and exciting function college Republicans can play here in Iowa. This race is going to be historic, and I would just like to encourage all young Republicans across the state and nation to stay active, work hard and put our best foot forward for the 2016 election. On to victory!
