I love moderation. I just can’t get enough of it -Unknown author

It’s that magical time of year again — twinkling lights, festive gatherings, tables laden with irresistible treats. If you’re like me, it’s also a time of excess, where the mantra “just enough” gets drowned out by an avalanche of cookies, rich casseroles, second servings of pie.

This year, I’m reflecting on my relationship with Moderation, a partnership put to the ultimate test during the holidays.

Meeting Moderation

About six months ago, I made friends with Moderation. I’d never been attracted to her before, so I was surprised.

God set me up with Moderation, like a cosmic blind date. At least that’s what I believe. One day, while praying for the resolve to lose weight, at last, I sensed God’s whisper in my ear —

“Deb, you’ve been on various diets more than 30 years now. It’s time to stop, do what I’ve been telling you, embrace Moderation.”

We are the voices of women who encourage, inspire, and empower each other to live lives of meaning and purpose. We are women in the middle.
