Forced to Let Go of My Superwoman Red Cape

All the confusion and doubt welled into a pool, covering my eyes as the doctor told me, “I hear you! I see you! Yes, this is real!”
How often have you longed to hear those words from a doctor when you explain all the crazy things happening within your body?
We, as women, often have the most toxic relationships with our bodies. It can take a toll on our mental and physical health. We become warriors of strength, pushing through all the twists and turns of societal expectations and our own battles with food and scale.
Judging Ourselves
“Perhaps freedom is when we stop judging ourselves and others. But, I have quite a few years to listen for the answer to that one.”
This was the final line in my post, “The Life I Didn’t Know I Wanted!” written two and a half years ago. At that time, I think I started stuttering while I listened because six months ago, COVID forced me to hear and see things differently.
We don’t know what we know until we are ready or forced to dig deep enough to accept it.
