How could she be missing for four days?

Sometimes, news articles make me think of all the twists and turns my life could have taken.

A woman was found dead at her desk after four days, but that is not what makes me so sad. Denise Prudhomme scanned into her job at 7 am on a Friday. After that, she was not heard from again until she was found dead in her cubical.

I Can’t Sleep

The thing that haunts me is that no one tried to communicate with this woman at her job. She was 60 years old.

No one came by to say “Good Morning” to her in four days. No person stopped by her desk to voice, “How was your weekend?”

She did not share any casual information about her life with anyone — no “How are your children” or “What have you been doing?” No invitations for lunch, coffee, or water cooler talk?

And what was her home life like? Why did no one miss her? Nobody looked for her. No one waited for her. No friends called the police for a wellness check because they had not heard from her.
