How I’m Coping with Existential Angst by Embracing Human Creativity
Take that AI
How do I cope when watching the foundations of my country crumble, my 401K tumble, and AI fanboys rumble?
As AI roams the land seeking to devour, I’ve found an anchor in celebrating human creativity. It’s not just escapism — it’s resistance, a reminder of what makes us human.
I choose to seek, celebrate, and support human creativity anywhere I can find it. Turns out, like love, it’s all around us.
Embrace live performance
In 2025, I’m embracing live performance. So far, I’ve been to two musicals, three concerts, and five plays.
Every one-click buy on Amazon Prime makes me feel vaguely dirty, but hitting ‘purchase’ on theater tickets fills me with joy. I’m supporting the arts and inspiring myself for a true win-win.
I’m lucky I can afford to pay for the cheap seats — dropping Prime certainly helped — but there’s a surprising amount of inexpensive performance available for most of us if we look.
The creativity I’ve experienced is like IV fluids chasing away the dehydration of dread. Real people pushing the bounds of the expected to create living, breathing works of art.
