How I’ve Learned to Control Yeast Infections for the Past Three Decades

I rarely have to go to the doctor anymore because of this preventive routine.

I got a call from a friend — her nether regions were so inflamed she couldn’t sit down.

She had done what we all think we have to do with a yeast infection: go to the doctor. My friend received the typical advice to apply an anti-fungal cream to the area. This cream supposedly “helps you feel comfortable again so you can get on with your life.”

Unfortunately, some women react to anti-fungal creams. Side effects may include burning, stinging, swelling, irritation, redness, pimple-like bumps, tenderness, or flaking of the treated skin.

Like my friend, I’ve experienced the absolute raw pain that comes after using a product that made things worse.

That was thirty years ago.
