I have such good intentions! Today, I will follow my healthy eating plan, do some exercise and avoid cookies.

But it’s only 10 a.m. and I’ve already thrown those goals out the window.

Sometimes I wonder why I have such a hard time staying on my plan. In fact, lately I’ve been eating a lot more cookies and ice cream than usual. But then I heard a new song, and I now have my answer.

Why we eat

Justin Moore, one of my favorite country singers, has a great song titled Why We Drink. The lyrics of this song helped me understand why I’ve struggled with gaining weight this winter.

Here are some of the words to Why We Drink, but when I changed the song to Why I Eat, it explained everything.

Why I eat

’Cause it’s Friday
’Cause it’s Monday
’Cause it’s a charcoal burnin’ Sunday
’Cause we ain’t gonna get to one day
That’s why we eat

’Cause the sun’s up
’Cause it’s sundown
’Cause my wound up needs a little unwound
’Cause we’ve been workin’ all day but we’re done now
Yeah, that’s why we eat
