What is that Number on the Scale?
Losing weight in your 60s
Are your pants feeling a little tight? Is it getting a little tough to zip up that jacket?
How does it happen?
I mean, I know how it happens, but really. One minute you’re feeling fit as a fiddle and the next you’re wondering what is that extra stuff around your waist.
Until I was 40, I could eat whatever I wanted. Exercise was not necessary. It wasn't till I hit my 50s that the scale gave me a rude awakening. Where in the world did that number that I’m seeing come from?
I knew it was time to take some action.
Over the years, I have had friends try various weight loss programs. The problem I found with most was there were so many limitations on what I was allowed to eat. I tried some required pre-made meals, and I must say, I did not like how they tasted. One weight loss program that was sponsored by my workplace not only had specific foods but also specific times of the day you should be eating. This was not practical for me and I knew I’d fail.

The price was right, and there were meetings just a mile down the road.
