Where do You Live?
A poem about noticing how we inhabit our inner world
Where do you live?
She asked
as she set down
a fresh vase of
flowers from her garden.
I live at the edge of tears,
I told her.
And
at the edge of joy.
I know that place.
She said.
It is a place of change,
of hope, of loss,
and love.
I feel as though
I’ve always lived
there,
I said.
Oh, my love,
She replied,
We all do,
it’s just…
we don’t all
know it.
Love, Lisa
