Navigating the psychological battlefield of swimsuit shopping is an experience I’ve reluctantly embarked on. The joy of acquiring new attire is often eclipsed by the frustration of finding a suitable fit. Standard sizes are no longer standard.

While I’ve come to terms with the realities of aging, hello, tummy sag, and love handles, I still cling to the youthful notion of donning a two-piece.

Trying to find the right size is like navigating the minefield that is our clothing size system in Australia. It typically involves juggling three different sizes in the fitting room or resorting to online purchases, knowing full well there will be the inevitable postage costs for returns.

The crux of the issue lies in the absence of an official sizing system in Australia. On the bright side, you don’t need to embark on a dieting spree. Simply step into another store, and like magic, you might find yourself dropping a dress size.
