Celebrating Our Awesome Editing Team @ MIDFORM + 100 Followers in Our First 11 Days
We’re flying high at MIDFORM after almost two weeks of launching our new publication.
Our concept of a mid-length publication at 3 minutes or less is resonating with many. Plus one of our favourite features: Key messages at the end of every story.

Get to Know Our MIDFORM Editing Team
We have an incredible editing team including Dawn Smiles, Kylie van Gelder, Linda Locke and myself, Megan Llorente. We’ll also have another editor joining us soon: Robin Oakman.
These ladies along with myself have been publishing your stories around the clock. If you’ve already submitted a story to MIDFORM, you’ll likely have seen just how quick we are to publish!
Here are 3 questions to get to know us.
1. Why did you join Medium?
Dawn: It was my husband’s suggestion actually! He knew I loved to write and that I was feeling a little isolated and cut off from the world during the pandemic. I hadn’t realized how much I missed People until I finally got on here and started interacting again!
Kylie: There are many reasons why I joined Medium. For starters, it’s a great place to start a blog as a new writer. What I didn’t know was that there is a fantastic community here on Medium. The support offered by other writers. The willingness to share. It’s absolutely amazing!
Linda: I joined Medium because I love to write and enjoy being a part of a community of writers and readers that support and encourage each other.
Megan: Originally it was to share articles from my coaching website but it’s since morphed into my addiction! I’ve built so many new friendships and met some incredible people. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
2. What’s your favourite article you’ve ever written?
Dawn: I’d have to say The ABC’s of Dawn :) It was quick and easy and kind of wrote itself. But the best part is how many people were inspired by it to do their own ABC’s! I started a mini movement. That was super cool :D
Kylie: I’d say it’s the one when I realized my inner critic was working behind the scenes to prevent me from moving forward: My Inner Critic Has A Strong Hold On Me. This realization set me on a path to shift how I approach writing. It took the pressure to perform off and now I write for fun.
Linda: My favorite article is: Advice To My Younger Self: Take the road less traveled.
Megan: Part of my bio says “Love is the answer ❤️”. I truly mean that and my fave article is the one where I expanded on this belief: How to Fall in Love with the Human Race Again.
3. What do you enjoy about editing?
Dawn: If I’m being honest, I get a little thrill out of being the FIRST person to see someone’s latest work :) That’s just so neat. I also like being able to offer helpful suggestions when they’re needed, and getting to know new writers I might not have seen otherwise.
Kylie: Being an editor puts me in direct contact with writers I may have otherwise not discovered. I get to learn more about who they are and what they love to write about. As an editor, I also get the chance to sit on the other side of the page. I’m discovering what works and doesn’t work in articles.
Linda: I enjoy reading all the different articles that writers submit and their different viewpoints. I like the process of reviewing their work and improving it with a light hand. Editing also helps me to become a better writer.
Megan: I’m all about uplifting other writers. I want everyone to feel that their voice and their work matters, because it does. Editing is one of the ways I can help bring their precious words to the world.
