Coffee is a worldwide famous drink because of its delicious taste and rich aroma that can make your day. For many people, it’s a ritual to start their morning with a cup of coffee.

J.S. Bach once said

“Without my morning coffee, I’m just like a dried-up piece of a goat.”

Coffee is also a social drink. It doesn’t matter whether we come home after working hours, meet with friends, study late at night, attend official meetings or travel on the roadside, or study late night; we are continuously looking for coffee or nearby coffee shops.

There is no doubt that coffee is the best source of strengthening our relationships.

Jackie Chan beautifully said:

“Coffee is a language in itself.”

What makes coffee a healthy drink?

Coffee is derived from the seeds, or beans, of the coffee tree. The chemical composition of coffee contains many ingredients and compounds that make it a rich energy source and a healthy drink.

Coffee has hundreds of aromatic molecules, bitter phenols (acidic compounds), caffeine, antioxidants, proteins, vitamins, starches and oils. All play a special role in developing the unique flavor of coffee and making it a healthy, energetic drink.

Health benefits of coffee:

Generally, coffee lovers are unaware of what wonders coffee can do with their health. Moreover, they usually wrongly think that coffee is an addiction and damaging to health in the long run. Recent scientific studies have disproved these myths.

According to experts, consuming coffee in moderation (within a safe limit) is always better to maximize its health benefits.

It is suggested that 400mg of coffee or, on average, approximately 1–4 cups are enough for daily usage to achieve maximum health benefits.

However, excessive coffee intake can become a cause of some health problems.

Side effects of excessive coffee consumption:

The excessive usage of coffee, which is more than recommended optimal amount of coffee, can lead to some health hazards, which may include:

  • Insomnia (Lack of sleep)
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Addiction
  • High blood pressure
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Restlessness and shakiness
  • Dizziness
  • Digestive issues

Final words:

Coffee is a flavorful, healthy drink that can protect you from various chronic diseases. Like every other food, coffee will benefit your health when consumed according to the optimal limit, as experts recommend.

Otherwise, you will suffer from health issues that may have serious implications.

Key Message: Excess of everything is bad. To attain the maximum health benefits of coffee, drink it within the prescribed optimal limit, which is safe and beneficial for your well-being in the long run.
