What is your relationship to fear?

Fear comes and goes in waves for me these days.

It’s not a constant companion — thank God — but it also hasn’t disappeared.

Some days I feel fearless — usually when I’m connected to myself and the universe, and feeling energized and excited.

Other days, fear grips me. When I replay scenarios over and over again. When my mind swirls about contingency plans and how to avoid the very thing I fear.

I don’t have a “most afraid” thing because every day or every week it changes. It’s never a constant.

My Relationship with Fear

What I am grateful for is that I no longer fear fear. When it arrives, I go back to what I know: That it’s time to get grounded, connect to spirit and process those fears.

I ask myself, “What’s the worst that could happen?” and actually contemplate it. And then I realize that no matter what, I’ll be just fine.

For example, today we are in the midst of putting in an offer to buy a home. It’s the biggest purchase I’ve ever made in my life.

Fear swirls around with potential drawbacks and worst-case…
