Nowadays, most of our beloved essential gadgets are deliberately designed with planned obsolescence.
Planned obsolescence describes the practice of designing products to break down quickly or become obsolete in the short to mid-term. This is to encourage sales of new products and upgrades.
In a third-world country like mine, devices must last longer than expected.
My rule of thumb for every mobile gadget I buy is: “This must last for at least 3 years.” Every extra year is a bonus time. Extra life.
