Monsters, Mysteries, & Madness Contest

Bejeweled, beheaded, behold uncanny resemblance to humanity;
history befallen, saturated by monsters in human form, Caligula,
blessed are the ancient horrid, make way for our stories as if
history rescinds torture, madness precluded inside the beast;
mankind, burning of maidens, Pendle Hill, chests full of medicine
steaming thunder from the underground where they descend;
Holy Spirits in a time of hunger, pledging riddance of fantastical creatures.

It was not the monsters; silhouettes nor crimson eyes, wings fluttering in stranglehold,
madness follows humanity, history of the bitter kind,
creatures elongated into forms; scripted in literature, drawn to appease
the curse of the human psyche — Jung; behold the underground.

Mysteries exude, Bermuda triangle, L 54 — Roswell united,
burned papers incisions into experiments forever lost,
marching down checkered floors; swearing oath to blood and unity,
your call is filled with infusion of unexplained — until the point of no return.
