Summer Haze

cherishing the passing summer

sun’s warmth to my bones
soft buzz
as the dragonflies drone
intense, what it does
wilts a garden grown
sun-dried tomatoes?

hours long bypass
it’s winter cousin
yet the days go fast
and memories by the dozen
how long will it last
before again it is all frozen

how did I fall so deeply?
skies pastel pinks and blues
how did I fall so deeply?
sweet jasmine perfume
how did I fall so deeply?
oh summer haze, I cherish you

Tomorrow I will not be me as today, just as I am not the same as yesterday
