We can’t go it alone.

In our first year as rider-participants in Pelotonia for most of us (Erin and Noble volunteered in 2012 when they worked at Kenyon; Amy rode in 2009 — lucky duck!) we admit to being a bit naive about how exactly we could raise our required fundraising commitments. At the same time, we discovered that there was a considerable cost in putting together a team effort that included advertising, print, mail, cycling kits, travel, and lodging. We realized that we needed to turn to some of our friends and favored brands to see if they could help defray some of our personal costs in exchange for advertising.

The response has been overwhelming. We want to introduce to you those companies who have already met our calls for support. Some have taken on partial sponsorships, while others have donated directly to Pelotonia via pelotonia.org/georgia.

We are so grateful for their willingness to make our Pelotonia participation possible, and to assist us as we ride 180 miles to end cancer.

We are #fastertogether.

The folks at HiLo Lounge couldn’t be friendlier. (The beer is cold, and the food is fantastic, too…) So, we’re right at home at HiLo, needless to say!

HiLo was an early supporter of our efforts, hosting two percentage nights for us in preparation for #Pelotonia15. Last week they generously hosted our #Pelotonia16 Launch Party & Percentage Night, donating 10% of sales to our team goal. They’re having us back for more, with an early summer celebration and a send-off night in July, so stay tuned for more!

HiLo has also partnered with Watershed Distillery out of Columbus, Ohio, to help us raise money. $1.00 from any drink with Watershed’s Bourbon Barrel Gin ordered now through August at HiLo will be donated to our team! (HiLo’s Negroni is out of this world, by the way…just sayin’…)

Andrew Belasco and Michael Trivette, friends through the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education where Erin, Rachel, and Noble are pursuing Ph.D. studies, founded College Transitions, lending their expertise to guide students through the college application process.

Charlie discovered a cousin in Newport, Kentucky, doing amazing philanthropy work while roasting coffee beans! How cool is that? Justin and Emily Carabello opened shop in 2009, dedicated to the very best in quality through Fair Trade, organic, and even farm direct and direct relationship coffees. Farm direct allows them to purchase beans directly from farmers, thereby ensuring a fair price paid to producers themselves.

You can purchase super cool gear and tasty coffee beans online at carabellocoffee.com. They do really cool things on twitter and Facebook, so be sure to give them a follow, too!

Old friends will always be there. Michael Matechak and his colleagues at ArdentMC in Reston, Virginia, signed on as sponsors. Michael and Charlie’s friendship dates back to their Washington & Lee days.

ArdentMC delivers solutions in Geospatial Information Systems, Mobile Solutions, Situational Awareness, CIO Support and Governance, and Agile Software Development, to Federal and commercial clients by combining technical and program management expertise with a level of commitment unparalleled in the contractor community. (We need to incorporate some of that GIS into our training route planning!)

Micah Morlock and his crew at Georgia Cycle Sport have their hands in seemingly everything bicycling-related in the Athens, Georgia area. No surprise they’d willingly step up to support our team, as well. They’ve patched tires, rewrapped handlebars, greased up some chains…you get the idea…and that’s only on Noble’s bike.

When we can’t pedal up to Kentucky and we’re in dire need of the local caffeine, it’s Jittery Joe’s, of course! Jittery Joe’s is a regular (daily!) stop for most of us on the Midnight Train. Visit their Web site, sign up for their mailing list, and you’ll pick up 15% off of your online order!

Can you tell the secret ingredient in keeping our train a-rollin’ is coffee?!?

We’re so pleased to provide an update, with two recent corporate sponsors joining the Midnight Train peloton!

Lee Grahl and his team at Grahl Construction out of Athens, Georgia, has joined the train. Please check out their gorgeous craftsmanship on some of their recent projects. And don’t forget to meet their team, too!

Need another reason to have a cold one after a long training ride? We got ya’! Check out our friends at Ill Mannered Brewing Company out of Powell, Ohio. We‘re certainly stopping into their taproom during our trip to Ohio in August, which you can do Wednesdays through Sundays each week. We so sincerely appreciate their support toward Amy’s fundraising commitment, and can’t wait to get a taste of what’s on tap! Read all about the brewery team here!

As some of you may know, the other not-so-secret ingredient in fueling our training is PRETZELS! Inspired by Charlie’s Ralphie Wiggum voice, we’re looking to add a pretzel sponsor (or two), so if anyone is interested, let us know!

Much needed pretzel refueling during #Pelotonia15.

Thanks for reading…we’ll be back soon.
