This weekend we head to Canada for the last Home Series of the season in Toronto. With the top 4 teams attending and some valuable CDL Points up for grabs, this is set to be an excellent weekend of matches.
The CDL Standings
Going into the final week, both OpTic Gaming Los Angeles (18.00) and Toronto Ultra (20.00) have the chance to gain themselves a winners round one spot for the Call of Duty League Playoffs. However, they play each other in round one. While the top 4 is already confirmed in Atlanta FaZe (4.40), Dallas Empire (3.00), Florida Mutineers (5.20) and Chicago Huntsmen (4.40), this isn’t the final order. This order will change depending on the results this weekend, with any team being able to go first or fourth. At the bottom of the leaderboard, Toronto need 30 points, and OGLA need 20 to get their winners bracket spot. As for Seattle Surge, they have to win the event.
Groups of Death
This is setting up to be an extremely close weekend, with two very close and competitive groups.
Group A: Chicago Huntsmen, Seattle Surge, OpTic Gaming and Toronto Ultra
Group B: Atlanta FaZe, Minnesota Rokkr, Florida Mutineers and Dallas Empire
While group A has a clear winner in the Chicago Huntsmen, the fight for second place in that group will be tough. With all teams needing those valuable CDL Points heading into champs, they can turn into completely different teams and play better than they have shown before.
Prediction
While this is a very competitive weekend, the winner has to be Dallas Empire. Dallas will win back-to-back events because they’re currently seen as the best team in the game. Their lowest overall K/D last weekend was Crimsix with a 1.15, and every single player went positive. Their map count was also 12–1, being the most dominant event win we have seen so far in the CDL. At 3.00 to win, Dallas Empire can definitely go back-to-back based on their performance last weekend.
