Targeting individual users
Sometimes you have one-on-one relationships with some of your customers. Understanding your customers means you might have background on why someone needs to view a new variation you’re working on.
There can be situations where you want to target a specific user or set of users to deliver them a new variation of your application or website. These can include:
- A user is having a specific problem with an existing part of your application or website.
- Someone has requested changes to a new or existing feature.
- You have a limited user base that interacts with what you are testing.
In the same way that defining an audience tells Midship which audiences to include in the experiment, you can define a list of users that are forced to see a specific variation:
You can force users into either multiple or single variations. This gives you a high level of control over individual users. In the above example, the user with an id of james@midship.io gets forced to see the green form variation.
