Welcome to Scavengers

Last week, we shared our debut trailer from The Game Awards, which featured a first look at our game and a few of our Explorers, the last true “survivors” in the Scavengers universe. These young men and women were chosen as an emergency fallback plan to save humanity from the triple threat of an exploding moon, the resulting planetary ice age, and a rain of meteorites infected with an alien plague called The Scourge.

The trailer gave us a first look at Halden, Jae, Kali, and Valora (left to right, above). Each of these young Explorers has unique abilities and combat styles that we’ll have more to share about in the coming months.

While the storms and Scourge destroyed our world, the Explorers were preserved in Sanctuary, an orbital station far above the frozen surface of the planet. Earth is now is a deadly ruin where only the strongest predators survive by picking the bones of a once-great world.

Sanctuary constantly monitors the icy storms below, seeking “safe” gaps for you to quickly drop to the surface and collect information about the Scourge plague infesting the land. There are many dangers standing between you and your goal, and you only have a brief window of time to get your job done before the storm’s icy embrace rolls back in.
