Mighty Bear’s End of Year Party: One Tree Planted
At this time of year studios are usually thinking about what swag to give out or where to hold their end of year party. This year we took a different approach.
Restrictions on gathering would have made it impossible for us to all meet up, and everyone has enough “stuff”. Some studies have claimed that the average American throws out 81lbs/37KG of clothes and 46lbs/21KG of e-waste per year, so more company t-shirts and gadgets are probably not what people need.
This year we took the money that would have otherwise spent on swag or getting together and decided to donate it to a worthy cause. The team looked at a few options and voted to donate S$10,000 to One Tree Planted.
One Tree Planted works with partners across the world with over 40,000,000 tress planted to-date. Their focus on global reforestation struck a chord with the team. With most of the team being based in Southeast Asia, deforestation and the plight of the rainforests is a topic which is very real to many of us, and we’re proud to be able to do our bit to help.
