Mae & Maradona

We’re in the last three weeks of our time here in Argentina, and close to being home. In this week, between a third child birthday (yawn) and a second’s (planning and planning), Emma, Mae and Will hung out around town and we checked out the La Boca neighborhood, which is arguably the most well know in Buenos Aires, for the colorful old buildings and famous La Boca Juniors soccer club and their crazy stadium: The Bobonera.

La Boca — Because La Boca is well known it’s super touristy. It was an old art haven and shipping port, with lots of diversity based on immigrants who settled there.

some of the colorful town, and Emma loves the way they do seltzer water here…
The girls love the bus down here / Mafalda shooting flowers into the world / our lunch table :-)

During our La Boca visit we visited a museum that had some interactive kids exhibits. Emma, Mae, and especially Will loved the dress up and painting parts of the experience.

Outfits for each kids at the dressup exhibit
Mae and MJ painting hands / Night meal on the roof

School — for the last 3 weeks of our journey, Emma and Mae are attending Escuela del Sol, based on a connection that Amy has made. Only a few pics, but the school is awesome and the kids are having a blast. And homeschool was reaching it’s end anyway :-) Nice to have a change of pace.

Will wanted to stay in school / Mae excited…we think!

Ocean Park & Palermo — On Sunday, our friends an us went to a new park on the ocean and had dinner. We also visited the post office again, and the botanical gardens so Mae could see her favorite statue…

Pics near the water at the park de los ninos on the north side of the city / a dinner where for once, there was relative peace /And the kids thought it was funny to find Kansas in Argentina…
Mae wanted to go back to the weird statue and make a “gross” face in front of it….and we had to wait 31 places for the post office! hahaha.

Lastly, this week we have one update. Amy started a graduate certificate program to advance further at her school. She’s enrolled in the University of Missouri. She’s taking 4 Classes to start! It’s crazy but we’re supporting her as best we can. Here’s what this looks like:

Love from us!

And PS: Weekly super cute will/kids pics below!
