2017 Is Going To Be A Great Year For Marvel Movies And I Can’t Wait

While there are plenty of reasons we’d all love to completely forget 2016 ever happened, can we at least agree we got some pretty great Marvel movies this year?

The MCU added Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange to its already impressive resume and Deadpool went on to become the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.

And before you ask, no, I did not forget X-Men: Apocalypse. I’m just choosing to ignore it because it was absolute garbage.

But if you thought 2016 was a great year for Marvel on the big screen, 2017 looks like it might be even better.

Don’t believe me? Well let’s take a quick look at their line-up, shall we?

Logan — March 3rd

Can you believe Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine on the big screen for 16 years now? I guess time really does fly when you’re having a good time.

Well next March his tenure as the famed Canadian mutant finally comes to an end, and it looks like he’s going out on a high note.

This movie is clearly borrowing a LOT from the extremely popular Old Man Logan comics, and if you’ve read those you already know why this might be the most gritty and emotional X-Men flick we’ve ever seen.

To be perfectly honest, Logan wasn’t even on my radar before the trailer dropped in October. But the use of Johnny Cash’s “Hurt” and the hard R rating has already made this one of my most anticipated movies of 2017.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 — May 5th

I have just two words for you. Baby. Groot.

If that’s not enough to get your excited for this movie, I don’t know what will.

But seriously, the first Guardians Of The Galaxy is already one of my favorite movies in the MCU, and that’s all thanks to the amazing characters we were introduced to 2 years ago.

Perhaps the best thing about this film is we don’t have to waste any time with introductions and we can jump right into the action with our favorite crew of space misfits.

Oh, and did I mention that Baby Groot is absolutely freaking adorable? Because he is.

Spider-Man: Homecoming — July 7th

While Captain America: Civil War is mostly about a pissing contest between Captain America and Iron man, the one character that had everyone buzzing was Spider-Man.

In fact, Tom Holland’s portrayal of the web-slinger was so good he’s getting his very own movie next year, and it looks like a lot of fun.

Now we’ve obviously seen Spidey on the big screen many times before, but unlike its predecessors it looks like Homecoming is going to focus a lot more on Peter Parker as a high schooler first and a superhero second.

There’s a ton to love about this trailer. Michael Keaton as the Vulture (Get it? Because he was in Birdman! GET IT?!), Marisa Tomei’s return as hot aunt May, and a diverse cast that includes Zendaya and Laura Harris as two of the lead female characters.

Seriously, what’s not to love?

Thor: Ragnarok — November 3rd

Do you ever wonder what Thor and Hulk were up to during Captain America: Civil War?

Well according to the hilarious clip, “Team Thor,” the answer is pretty much just hanging out.

From what we can tell, Thor has been slumming it with his human roommate Darryl in Australia while Bruce Banner has been dodging calls from Tony Stark this entire time.

Now obviously this clip isn’t canon and probably won’t come into play in Ragnarok, but it’s a great preview of the humor we’re going to get from director Taika Waititi.

Now can we please get a trailer for this thing soon?
