How to live a ‘lite’ life

Life can be hard and complicated at the best of times, can’t it?

We’re conditioned to drag around the heavy weight of emotional baggage, material possessions and financial worries everywhere we go.But I think this idea is an important one to question.

Because we all know those people who seem to live life according to a very simple set of rules, beliefs or philosophies. They don’t care for material things and they seem to be immune to the emotional volatility that plagues you and I more than we care to admit.

There’s a certain characteristic to them. A lightness and an effortlessness that’s incredibly attractive yet seemingly out of reach.

And I’ve noticed that, for them, less is often more.

They adopt a minimalist approach to living. Only taking what they need from the plate of life, not what is necessarily available — even if that’s far more.

So, what to do with the excess? Consider giving it away or leaving it for someone else to pick up instead.

They probably need it more than you.

If nothing else, it will lighten the load on your spirit.

‘A light and liberated spirit’ — now to me, that’s living.
