Behind every successful small business you will find an owner who can solve. They aren’t afraid of solving and they aren’t paralysed by the fear of not being able to solve either. More often than not, they aren’t using under-handed or manipulative techniques to solve. They don’t look at solving that way and neither should you.

They treat their prospects and their customers with courtesy, manners, respect and understanding when solving. In fact, their clients are thanking them by the end of the process. It’s less a game of force and more a game of flow.

They connect with people on a deeper level, they’re able to enrol others in their vision and solution. They have more empathy for others situations and build longer, more meaningful relationships with their clients and other stakeholders as a result.

You may be saying to yourself it’s not that black and white…..‘I run a successful small business yet I’m not a great solver’. Great solvers don’t really look at themselves that way.

They see themselves less as a solver and more as a coach. Their process helps you get from where you are now to where you want to go. They build a bridge over all your challenges and frustrations. They help you identify unforeseen road blocks getting in your way and show you a path to overcome them. They feel like they’ve done you a disservice if your problem goes unresolved, whether or not they are the person to resolve it.

Every small business owner must be a great solver if they want to grow a successful small business. There really is no if’s or but’s to that statement. Think of solving what you will, but that statement couldn’t be further from the truth.

Now replace the word solve, solver or solving with sell, seller or selling and you’ve just found the truth behind sales.
