Let’s talk about interviews

Love ’em or hate ’em, if you’re anything like me, you probably think interviews are stressful! And you wouldn’t be wrong. I’ve been on both sides (interviewer and interviewee) for decades and my nerves still get the best of me. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first interview or your 100th, it’s not always easy to keep your cool and stay focused.

I’m on a mission to change that.

When you’re in the interview chair and the stress creeps in, a whole other layer of skills is needed. You need soft skills — real, practical life skills that can help you during the interview.

And I don’t think we teach them enough.

If you can learn to connect with your interviewer, manage your nerves, and present yourself well, you’ll leave a lasting, memorable impression. To do that, it takes soft skills. An understanding and application of them is how you make or break how you’re perceived in an interview.
