One of the best ways to apply your UX skills on yourself is to conduct a self-SWOT analysis! Take some time this weekend to sit down and identify your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in your life by looking at the internal and external factors that are holding you back.

A SWOT analysis is a strategic planning technique used to help businesses identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (hence, SWOT) related to business competition or project planning.

The framework looks at the internal and external factors that are favorable or not favorable in achieving goals and outcomes.

The technique helps us peel back the layers of the business and helps in the discovery phase and early, strategic decision-making.

So why not do a SWOT analysis on yourself to achieve your own goals and outcomes?

It could look something like this:

I’ve been maintaining a SWOT analysis for a couple of years now, filled with my own personal data and the data of others in my network, including family, friends, and coworkers. It’s been a game-changer in how I set goals and advance in my career and I believe it could help you in your career!

Give it a shot!
