What is Emotional Intelligence, Anyway?
Emotional intelligence is your ability to recognize, understand, and manage both your own emotions and the emotions of others. It involves being aware of your feelings, controlling impulsive reactions, showing empathy toward others, communicating effectively, and using emotions in positive ways to overcome challenges and strengthen relationships.
Psychologists say this set of skills helps you make smarter decisions, stay calm under pressure, and improve how you connect with people, all of which are key to success in life. Emotional intelligence can (and should) be developed and improved with practice.
