Nobody Cares About You, Your Career, or Your Job Search
I know what you’re thinking.
Well, that title’s a punch to the gut
Let me guess what’s running through your mind right now. You stumble across this article with its brutal title staring back at you… and your first reaction is…“Sheesh!” Anger. Frustration. Maybe some hurt.
That’s justified.
After all, you’ve spent months crafting a perfect resume, written countless cover letters nobody reads, and practiced interview questions until your voice gave out. You’ve built your brand, made a portfolio, networked with creepy strangers at events, reached out to recruiters on LinkedIn, and pushed yourself far outside your comfort zone.
You’ve done everything “right.” You’ve followed everything the career experts and mentors tell you to do. And now some writer on Medium has the nerve to tell you nobody cares?
What a jerk. I deserve that.
You’re probably expecting what comes next. A tough-love lecture about entitlement. My rant about how newer generations expect too much. Or a cliche reminder that your parents just walked uphill both ways into places and got jobs by showing “grit.”
