Trust the Process, Even If There Are Weeds
Don’t cancel the plan just because things are ugly right now.
There are about 137 dandelions in my yard right now. Give or take a dozen.
That’s a rough guess. But it feels right, and I hate them. I see them every time I pull into the driveway. They’re the first thing I notice before entering the front door. Not the green grass or the flower beds we tried to prep last fall. Not even the happy sounds of my kids playing in the backyard.
Just these stupid weeds.
This year, I did something different. I hired a lawn care company to help with our yard. Because of some health issues that knocked the wind out of me, I needed to call in some help. And I figured, this is an investment in our home, in how it feels to be here, and I like a nice-looking yard. It was extremely affordable, and felt like the right call, so I signed up.
The lawn care guy came out for the first application. They did their thing, explained how the process works with their monthly visits, and walked me through their planned sequence of treatments. Cool. Give it time, pay them, and eventually we’ll have a nice lawn!
So why, two weeks later, does my lawn look worse than before?
