This episode focuses in on the Germantown community in Philadelphia. Young people in Germantown believe that most young people have a hard time growing up and succeeding because of the lack of resources the community has to offer. By indicators such as poverty rates, education and crime, Germantown is considered worse than the greater Philadelphia averages as a whole. Although Germantown is one of those communities in Philadelphia where the crime is covered more than the actual community, from a statistical standpoint Germantown suffers more than most Philadelphia communities. According to the US Census Bureau from the American Community Survey, 25.7 percent of Philadelphia residents live below the poverty line, making it the poorest city between the 10 largest in the US.
